Lakeside Camping

Blaise was happily setting up a tent in view of Astro Lake, Samantha playing in the water cutely. His plan was to camp out here and have fun with his partner so their bond would grow. The Joy family had a special connection with their partners. True, they loved all their pokemon. However, that first was just... special. After setting the tent up, Blaise got out sandwiches he had packed. "Hungry Samantha?! Come eat!" The Happiny rushed over, wasting no time in enjoying the food.

The bushes nearby shuffled and a taillow hopped out. It chirped and picked at some worms in the ground. It looked to the trainer with the happiny and instantly assumed they wanted to battle. It chirped again and spread it's wings, prepared for battle if they wanted to battle.
A Wild Pokemon Appeared!

Blaise noticed the Taillow and nudged Samantha, gesturing to the new pokemon. "Look over there, wanna invite him over?" Samantha nodded instantly and went to Blaise's bag, pulling out a sandwich. "If you'd like, you can eat with us. I'd rather make friends than battle you right now to be honest. What do you say?" Samantha held out the sandwich, smiling to the flying type.

The taillow was confused, it hadn't seen a trainer do this before. It looked at the sandwhich, it realized that the trainer was offering the food to it and that it was hungry. It flew by and swiped the sandwhich, not completely trusting the trainer. It pecked at the sandwich, enjoying it's taste. The taillow finished the sandwich and looked at the trainer with curiosity, why had they fed it instead of battling it? It seemed to ask.

Blaise and Samantha had also finished their sandwiches. When he saw the confusion in the wild pokemon's eyes, he chuckled. "I don't feel like fighting if I can avoid it. I'm in the business of healing injuries, not causing them. Name is Blaise Joy and this is Samantha." As Samantha waved, Blaise took out three chocolate muffins. "Nowho wants dessert?" Samantha cheered and grabbed one, Blaise holding one out to the Taillow. "Made them myself."

The taillow watched them a bit more curiously, he was about to join them when a shinx appeared from nowhere and electrocuted it. It screeched and was grabbed on the wing by the shinx. The shinx smiled at it's prey and prepared to finish it off. The shinx had a collar on it with a lost and found tag on it. The shinx noticed the trainers and quickly began to try and drag the taillow away.

"Samantha, quickly use Pound!" The Happiny ran at the Shinx and aimed to strike his head hard. If hit, Blaise would obviously run over to snatch the Taillow. Depending on what happened next, Blaise could peacefully feed and take care of the Shinx to help it find its owner, or he'd have to battle and knock it out to return it. Blaise was hoping on the former.

The shinx was hit by the pound attack, but it didn't let go of it's prey. It hissed and leered at the opponent, looking to give it a warning to back off and leave it alone. The shinx tossed his prey into the bushes and hissed once more, not planning on letting anyone pass.

Blaise stood in front of the Shinx with Samantha, keeping his voice level and calm. "That Taillow is my friend. You shocked him, Samantha hit you. I have food and I'll help you find your owner if you stop now and call it even. We don't gotta do this." Samantha would Pound the Shinx again at first sight of an attack.

The shinx hissed again and tried to tackle the happiny then moved to attack Blaise. It didn't seem to like humans very much. The shinx hissed once more and leaped back in front of the bush containing it's prey. The shinx's fur prickled and it made nasty noises that signaled anger.

Samantha got a glancing blow, still recieving a portion of damage that made her hesitate. That was when the Shinx attacked Blaise and made her mad. Nobody, NOBODY, hurt Blaise. With anger fueling her attack, she launched another Pound at the Shinx as hard as she could. Blaise groaned as he got up, shaking off the pain of the hit. "Sorry, but looks like we'll have to do this unpleasantly."

The shinx leered at them again, then charged forward with a tackle attack, only to be hit with a pound from the happiny. It fled a few steps back before running in for another tackle.

"Keep the pressure up! You have the advantage in attrition! He'll fall before you do!" Samantha met the Tackle attack head on, aiming to deliver a direct Pound attack just as she was getting hit. Blaise had faith Samantha would win.

The shinx screeched as the pound hit it directly on the head. It fell to the ground and struggled back up. It hissed once more before fleeing, abandoning it's prey and returning to it's owner. The taillow was stuck inside the prickly bushes of a rose bush. It chirped a bit as it tried to move.

Blaise rushed over and carefully got the taillow out, ignoring the pain of the thorns that scraped his hands and arms. Going straight for his bag, he started cleaning its wounds and started lightly rubbing the flying type's muscles. "Electric attacks sometimes cause muscle control loss. This should get you back to normal. Luckily you only have nicks and bruises. Sorry for taking so long. Are you okay?"

The taillow seemed surprised that the human had helped him. It chirped and sat on the ground, looking up at the trainer. The taillow made some happy noises and jumped up and down as much as it could, it seemed to like the trainer. It looked at the trainer as if expecting something if the trainer wanted to do what it wanted.

Blaise was glad the taillow was back in good spirits. It would heal in no time, the wounds not serious. Blaise was surprised though when he saw what the taillow wanted. "You wanna come with us? I'd be happy to have you join!" Blaise went in his bag and pulled out a pokeball, expanding the device and tapping the button on its head. The pokeball opened and drew the pokemon it before the button flashed. Blaise watched patiently.

The taillow was now Blaise's pokemon. The sun reflected off of the lake and the lake glittered beautifully as pokemon splashed about underneath. The wind blew past and the day was pleasant aside from a few stray clouds.

Blaise smiled and let her out, handing over the before mentioned chocolate muffin. "You should have a nice name... How about Thalia? It is a pretty name that fits you." The taillow looked up from her eating and whistled happily. "Alright! Welcome to the team. I hope we can be the best of friends." Samantha cheered and danced around, excited to have a new friend.

Almost as if on cue, a trainer stepped out of the bushes with a shinx behind them. The trainer looked steamed. She said, "How dare you harm my shinx! You'll pay for that!" without waiting for an answer she sent out another pokemon, a meowth. The meowth hissed, in the same mood as her trainer.

Lass Samantha would like to battle!

Blaise grimaced and tried the reasonable approach. "Look, I don't want trouble. Your Shinx attack Thalia here and I gave him a chance to stop hurting her..." Blaise stopped when he saw the woman's mood hadn't changed a bit. "We're gonna battle, huh?" Thalia flapped forward, wanting to prove herself. "Well if we have to, I'll start first. Fly up and use Focus Energy, then swoop down for a Peck!" Thalia took off to do exactly as told.

The meowth was hit with the attack, but managed to avoid a critical. "Use THAT move meowth! Give it all you got!" Samantha cheered. The meowth nodded. It's face grew dark and sinister, as it's mind was filled with evil thoughts. The aura from it seemed to stretch out to Taillow, trying to damage it. It was Dark Pulse!

Thalia was hit and winced from the pain, but she shook it off and chirped threateningly to show she meant business. "Good job Thalia! I know you can win! Try Peck again!" Focus Energy should still had some effect as Thalia dived and pulled up to deliver an upward Peck attack.

The meowth was hit with a critical. It screeched in pain and launched itself at the taillow with a bite attack. It's teeth gleamed as it's predator instincts kicked in to hunt birds. It yowled as it sailed through the air towards the taillow.

Lucky for Thalia, she was more manuverable in the air. "Dodge and counter with another Peck to knock him back down!" Thalia flapped to the side to make a narrow dodge of that bite and immediately swung her beak at the back of the Meowth to hit him in midair.
