Gettin' it Over With

Lily Victoria White stood in front of the Konoah Laboratory, ready to get her starter, and get the heck out. It was cold and chilly, but Lily was clad in a pair of capris, a sweat jacket, and a short sleeve shirt. Lily was really unphaised by the weather, and had been that way for as long as she could remember. She marched right up to the lab doors and attempted to open them without bothering to knock or check inside. Lily didn't have time for waiting, as every minute passing could of been spent doing something more fun.

A professor opened the door, which had been locked. The professor looked slightly agitated and calmly asked, "Hello, I suppose you're here to get a starter pokemon? Come in, come in." he waved her in. He ignored the teenage girl that was pouting in a corner, "Ignore her, she's in time out for letting people take too rare of pokemon from the lab. A riolu and a rufflet, took ages to get a hold of them!" the man sighed, he put on his lab coat over his casual clothing and pushed up his glasses. "Ok, what pokemon do you want? We have nearly everything."

Lily hurried in. She drifted off, looking around at the machinery and devices used to study Pokemon, but quickly regained focus. She new exactly what she wanted. "I'd like a Shinx." Lily stated calmly, standing straight and tall. It could of been mistaken for a demand, though. She added a "Please?" for good measure.

The man sighed in relief, "Good...a common one." he punched a few buttons on the machine and the machine whirled a bit before spitting a pokeball dangerously into the air and having it land in the scientist's hand like it had been practiced many times before. He handed it to the girl and said, "Don't do anything bad with it and treat it well. Now shoo, i have work to do." he left the girl to the shinx. Forgetting himself to get her name. Not that it mattered much anyways, it was just a way of keeping track of pokemon in case a thief came along.

Lily accepted the Pokeball and rolled it around in her hands. She could feel the warmth of the Pokemon inside in her plams, and through the top a Shinx peered at her, beaming. "Thanks," Lily said quickly, zipping up her sweat jacket. She bolted out the door, deciding to name her new partner Kaito.

The scientist watched Lily run off, only then did he realize he forgot to get her name and give her a pokedex. His palm slapped his forehead and he sat down in a wheeled chair, the chair slid towards a corner where he began to sulk. He wished the head professor were here to help sort things out, but nope! The head just HAD to be off doing who knows what with who knows who. The scientist sighed and sulked there for the rest of the day, leaving the other scientist to work.

Aww shoot... Lily though, realizing she forgot the new trainer goods. She quickly slid to a stop and changed direction, stopping to knock on the door. Lily blushed, but only a little. "Heh. I think I forgot somethings!" she said, hoping someone could hear her through the door.

The same scientist wheeled over to the door with pokeball and pokedex in hand, "Here...just go." he sighed, pushing the pokeballs and pokedex into Lily's hand. He closed the door quickly and attempted to wheel back to his depression corner backwards, only to have his chair get caught on the edge of a desk and make it spin out of control and fall over, "Not my lucky day." he mumbled.
