The man humphed, "Fine!" he turned and left, fleeing into the caves. He looked at his masterball and called out his magikarp, "Why does nobody want you!?" he asked the golden fish. The golden magikarp flopped as if to shrug and returned to his pokeball as the collector left the tunnel and was never to be seen again by Nyx.

Nyx seemed confused by the Magikarp. Why was it golden? Did the collector paint it or something? She'd never seen anything like it. Sad to say, she couldn't ask further questions as the collector took his leave and left without another word. She looked at her Eevee, who was just about as confused as her. She shrugged, continuing on through the tunnels. Aloysius guided his trainer, with a bit more enthusiasm due to the recent event. His trainer didn't give him up for those other pokemon. He still had a chance.

The tunnel was barren of pokemon. After an hour of searching nothing was found but a light up ahead revealed an exit, did the trainer take the opportunity to leave the caves?

Nyx pouted, seeing there were no pokemon in the caves. The exit was already up ahead, but they didn't encounter a single pokemon. Although it was a huge relief to know that they weren't trapped, they didn't find anything useful for the team. It was all just a waste of time, and she wasted her flashlight's batteries all in order to find their way through a completely empty cave, save for the weird collector and the useless Diglett.

Aloysius looked behind his trainer, a small distance away from the exit. He saw her seem disappointed at the fact they didn't find any pokemon, and they barely even trained. His ears perked up, deciding that he would at least scour the area to see if there were any hiding pokemon.

A figure yawned as it crawled out of it's hole. "Hip?" it mumbled as it looked at the eevee. It's nose was large and a dark brown color, it gazed at the eevee lazily and continued walking. It didn't seem to care much for the trainer.

Nyx stopped, just a mere few feet away from the exit when Aloysius suddenly alarmed her. The Eevee continued to bark, causing the trainer to hurry over to see what all the commotion was about. To her surprise, it seemed her partner had found a pretty decent pokemon. A hippopotas, if she could remember correctly. One similar to the pokemon the grunt had. Having battled the pokemon, Nyx knew that it was pretty tough. With an excited grin, the trainer took a pokeball from her bag and sent forth her Shroomish.

Oliver opened his eyes, seeing him back on the battlefield. He grinned, hopping in place excitedly. The shroomish's enthusiasm had an abrupt halt when it saw who was supposed to be its opponent. A Hippopotas. The grass pokemon felt a wave of memories wash over him. The glazed look, the forced movement, the soulless Hippopotas. It made the mushroom pokemon feel hesitant, even though he knew that this Hippopotas was not the same as his past opponent.

"Oliver, Stun Spore, then Absorb!" His trainer called. The Shroomish didn't move for a few minutes, but soon snapped out and rushed toward the ground type. He released a paralysis-inducing mist of powder towards the pokemon, before sending a beam of light after it. It seemed to be holding back.

The hippopotas summoned a sandstorm from it's back as it grew a bit annoyed at the trainer and her pokemon. It had just made it's home in the cave after being released by a ranger with dark hair, a lucario, purrloin, and umbreon. It didn't know what had happened to it before but it hated being attacked for no apparent reason! It yawned at the shroomish, showing it's large gaping mouth then running in for a bite attack.

Oliver winced when a large bubble hit him in the face. He shook, opening his eyes. For some reason, the Shroomish was starting to feel sleepy. He gave a short yawn, before snapping out of his sleepy daze when the Hippopotas suddenly clamped its large, blunt teeth on him. He gave a screech, releasing spores upon the impact. He jumped back, freeing himself from the large pokemon's jaws and releasing a Stun Spore at it. He followed the mist with another beam of absorb, as his trainer fought to give orders against the sand storm.

The hippo pokemon blew sand at the shroomish and went for another bite attack. Is had been hit with the absorb attack but avoided the spores that could have stunned him and paralyzed it. It bellowed as it ran at the shroomish, it's yawn would take effect any moment now.

Oliver managed to release a few seeds in retaliation as he felt himself slip into unconsciousness. His small, mushroom-like body slumped onto the floor as he fell into unconsciousness, snoozing away peacefully as he began another trip to the Dream World. The grass pokemon gave no reaction as he was attacked, still in a deep slumber even amongst the ruckus. He was enjoying himself, but his teammates definitely weren't.

Nyx watched as her pokemon fell asleep in the middle of the battle. She hurriedly rummaged in her bag, only to realize in horror that she had forgotten to buy Awakenings. She facepalmed, having to watch the entire battle as her Shroomish refused to awaken. Her other pokemon weren't fit to fight a ground type. She could only hope that Oliver would awaken soon.

The hippopotas snorted and continued to bite and sand attack the shroomish, not having much of a choice. It hated how the pokemon suddenly attacked it. It was confused that the shroomish seemed strangely familiar, despite never having seen a shroomish before.

Oliver took the attacks, far too busy with his dream to awaken yet. He snored loudly, a peaceful look on his face despite the fact he was being showered with sand and being gnawed by the Hippopotas' huge, blunt teeth. The mushroom pokemon spewed a few spores by impulse as he was forced between the ground pokemon's molars.

Aloysius stifled a chuckle at the sight, more amused than sympathetic at his teammate's dilemma. The Eevee thought of the battle as more of a comedic slapstick with how the ground pokemon seemed to be trying to eat the mushroom. It was so pitiful, yet it still ticked his funny bone.

The Hippopotas groaned as it itself became sleepy. It stopped gnawing on the mushroom and fell over, also asleep. It was cast away into the dreamworld, where all things were peaceful and calm most of the time.

Oliver and the Hippopotas both snored. The two of them were now asleep, leaving the battle unfinished and plain ridiculous. The two pokemon were on the ground, asleep and enjoying their trips to the Dream World. Silence filled the battle field as Nyx and Aloysius watched the two pokemon snoring away.

The silence was broken when the trainer and her partner both burst into laughter, unable to hold back their cackles when they saw the two pokemon fast asleep and snoring so loud that it surprised them how the cave wasn't shaking. Nyx held her stomach, laughing so hard that it was beginning to hurt. Aloysius, on the other hand, continued to cackle at the sight while stomping his paw on the ground.

The laughing trainer finally composed herself, grabbing a pokeball from her bag. The Hippopotas didn't receive much damage during the fight, but she had to make do while it was busy fast asleep. "Go, Pokeball!" She said, throwing the metallic ball to the sleeping pokemon.

The ball shook once, twice, and clicked after a final shake. The pokemon was caught!

You caught Hippopotas!

Nyx grinned, walking over and picking up the pokeball. One more for the team! And a pretty strong one, to boot. She felt lucky, having nearly completed an entire team for the first time. The only thing she needed now was a water type, and lucky for her, the next gym was teeming with them. That meant water pokemon were at her grasp once she beat the gym. She hurriedly typed in a name, before taking out another pokeball.

"Oliver, return!" And with that, the sleeping mushroom was sent back into his pokeball. The trainer looked over to her Eevee, who had also finished laughing, and nodded. The two had to stop by the Pokemon Center first, but they would be going to the next gym once everything was done. Konoha was now off their list, at least, for now. The trainer and her partner left, heading for their last stop at the pokemon center.
