Nyx entered the gym, a wide grin on her face. The atmosphere around her practically screamed excitement and eagerness, unable to contain her joy as she finally arrived at her first gym. Looking around, she found herself in a more cafe-esque area instead of a battle field. Her grin vanished, replaced with a frown as she wandered the area in hopes of finding the gym. She hoped the sign outside hadn't fooled her; she came all this way to battle a gym, not to relax at a cafe!

The 14-year old walked up to the nearest available employee, hoping to ask for directions to where she could take the challenge. Luckily, it didn't seem like the place was all that busy at the moment, save for a few couples littering the romantic area. The girl suppressed the urge to gag, finding their lovey-dovey antics not suited to her taste. Her Eevee clung to her head, surveying the area with mild fascination. Like his trainer, he wasn't one for romantic themes. Battling was his calling, and this definitely wasn't what he expected from a gym.

The waited looked a bit annoyed when his job was interrupted, but pleased when she asked for the gym, "Right this way, Madam." he chimed. He led the trainer onto a stage in the performance area, "You're going to have to wow the crowd in order to fight the gym leader, show me your moves." he chimed as he smiled and pulled a pokeball from under a towel he had been holding. A seel popped onto the stage, making the crowd "ooh" at it's beauty.

"Wow the crowd? Is this a contest now or something?" Nyx asked, but was unable to get her answer as the waiter released his first pokemon. A seel. Pure water type, but could possibly have ice type moves. The girl hesitated, but got one of her pokeballs and released the pokemon inside.

Oliver hopped onto the stage as chipper as ever. He looked around, seeing a few other humans nearby. They seemed to be watching the battle. Upon this realization, the shroomish grinned. Did this mean he was in one of those 'gym battles' that his trainer was rambling on about in the pokemon center? He felt so honored and hyped, thinking that this meant he was their strongest pokemon. His teammates and his trainer were depending on him, and he was going to make them proud. However, it seemed the people in the audience didn't seem to impressed by the grass type.

"Oliver, take note that we kind of have to make this battle flashy." Nyx said. Oliver's grin widened, understanding the order. So, he was going to add some spice to this battle? Well, he hadn't done it in a while, but he did have a little enjoyment in dancing.

Ari held Hope's Pokeball carefully, looking around at the Gym's entrance. She wanted to prove that she wasn't weak, and people suggested that she went to the Water Gym. However....Hope seemed problematic. The Carvanha didn't listen to a word she said, and took many a battle way to seriously, in contrast to her trainer, who generally disliked battles and the pain it caused, only doing it if she had to. Shaking her head away from her thoughts, Ari walked into the Gym.

The young person looked around the cafe, Is this some type of gym with a restaurant in it? I think Unova had one... It wasn't really that busy, but there were generally pairs of two in the place, but Ari didn't get that they were romantically linked. A small crowd was around the stage, so Ari began to walk towards the place where the people were, thinking this would lead her to the Gym. An Ooh resounded, so thinking this was the place, inched her way towards the front. A girl and a waiter had two Pokemon out, the waiter had a Seel, while the girl had a Shroomish. Deciding to watch and wait, Ari looked at the battle confusedly.

The seel clapped at the audience and showed off it's cuteness by throwing them a puppy face. The audience "aww"ed at the sight and watched as the seel leaped to face it's opponent. It clapped and gave a bark as it spit water into the air and started off with a headbutt. It dragged itself forward at a surprisingly high speed as it rushed towards the shroomish.

The Shroomish was sent back, his ability being activated by the Headbutt. He quickly began to twirl and spin as he was sent in the air by the Seel's attack, releasing a beautiful rain of spores onto the stage. The powder seemed to glisten in the stage light, showering down onto the water pokemon below. Among the powder were hidden seeds, falling onto the ground and bursting into glowing life-sucking vines that littered the stage. The shroomish gave one final beam of Absorb, the red light shooting down below towards the Seel like a rushing spotlight. He landed onto the stage with grace, doing what seems to be a pirouette as he waited for his opponent's move.

Nyx gaped, not even giving any orders as she watched her mushroom pokemon pull off some contest-worthy moves. Her Eevee, on the other hand, was suppressing the urge to laugh as he watched his teammate do a pirouette. He was, however, also quite surprised that the shroomish could pull such tricks off.

Ari observed sliently, cringing slightly though, when the attacks were sent at each other. Even after her first real battle, she still disliked the fact that in the end Pokemon were getting hurt Like a certain blonde-haired girl with a giant pigtail. However, the Seel seemed to go for cuteness to win the crowd over, the Shroomish used it's ability and grace to simply show everything it had. It was beautiful, but it still could hurt. It made the red-haired girl feel conflicted about the whole battle. In her pocket, a certain red and white Pokeball shook, almost angrily. It wanted out. This time, Ari was smart and took it out, holding it shut carefully. She didn't want a repeat of the last few times.

The seel was hit by both attacks, it seemed to let them hit on purpose. It screamed loudly and caused the audience to gasp and become agitated at the shroomish. How dare he attack the poor cute thing? The seel stood itself up, it felt ill, poisoned. It took a deep breath and shot an Icy Wind at the shroomish with a growl right behind it.

Oliver paid no mind to the audience. If there was one thing the Kirlia at the forest taught him, it was not to be affected by the watchers. 'One must be confident in their actions to succeed' as they had said. He watched as a gust of cold air was suddenly shot at him, reacting quickly by sending an Absorb. The beam shot towards the rushing air, threatening to break past and hit the attacker.

Ari would have been like the audience, if she hadn't known that the Seel could move quickly, she would have been agitated. However, judging by earlier Ari figured out that the Seel could have easily dodged that hit, but however decided to get hurt for a reason. Most likely to keep up it's cuteness facade, to win over the crowd. Knowing this fact, she couldn't help but cringe-they still were getting hurt. Hopefully the battle would be over soon.

The seel was hit once more, taking an unexpected critical. It's trainer hadn't counted on the poison or the icy wind in fact failing to hit. The seel sighed as it fell backwards dramatically, earning a few more last points with the crowd. The owner returned his seel, in a hurry to get it our of battle and avoid more damage to it. He glared at the trainer and sent out a vaporeon, "Avenge Seel!" he ordered it.

Oliver smiled, enjoying himself even with the negative feedback. He looked up in awe at the Vaporeon, giving a squeal. "Shroom shroom shroom! < Wow, you're pretty! >" He said, hopping in place. He'd never seen a pokemon like this before, and for some reason it held an odd resemblance to one of his teammates. With compliments over, the little grass pokemon took a dash. He jumped, now air-born as he used Stun Spore. The pokemon was cloaked with a shield of paralyzing powder, looking as if he was covered in small pieces of gold as he crashed towards the water pokemon in a falling Tackle.

Aloysius's ears perked up as he sat on his trainer's head. A vaporeon? It was one of the options he had in his evolution. He smirked, deciding that this battle wasn't all fruitless after all. He would be able to see whether or not evolving into a water pokemon would be worthwhile.

Ari blinked. A Vaporeon? Those were one of her favorite Eevee-lutions of the whole lot. She remembered seeing all of them on a poster which her half-brother bought, for some reason she seemed to remember he went and got the whole evolution family, becoming a breeder. The Pokeball shook again, bringing her out of her daydreams. The Shroomish used interesting moves, which actually worked better than the Seel's old strategy. But the crowd seemed to like the Seel natural charm than the Shroomish's smarts.

The vaporeon huffed and blew it's cheeks up a bit. It had been disturbed from a good nap because of this pest! The water pokemon turned and kicked sand that littered some parts of the floor at the shroomish. It then turned and leaped toward it in a tackle attack, it screeched as it did so. It was aiming for a more protective, powerful, and vengeful look. The audience seemed to like to take a cheering for it, but they didn't like how ferocious it looked.

Oliver was quick enough to dodge the sand, but was hit by the Tackle in the process. He gave a cry, being sent back. He jumped back onto his little feet, not liking how the Vaporeon was acting. It was almost like the pokemon wasn't even trying to fight naturally, like it was pretending in order to impress the audience. With a chipper 'Shroo!', it hopped nonchalantly to the Vaporeon. The shroomish stopped, looking up at the water pokemon with a grin before releasing a bullet-like rush of seeds at the Vaporeon, the seeds bursting into glowing vines. The shroomish then jumped up, before sending a beam of Absorb down at the water pokemon. It wanted spotlight so badly? Then it will get it!

The vaporeon was hit, but it seemed to shake it off with a bit of difficulty and kicked more sand at the Shroomish and moving in for another tackle. It seemed to dance a bit as it dodged, earning another "wow" from the crowd. There were some murmurers going around the crowd, "I'm definitely coming back here again!" "Mitch HAS to see this!" "This is totally worth these prices!" The waiter seemed to smile even wider as his Vaporeon rushed towards the shroomish.

Oliver did his best to dodge the incoming sand. His eyes widened as he got another idea. He began rushing towards the Vaporeon as it used Tackle, being hit. Enduring the pain, the shroomish gave out its spores. He began to twirl and hop around the water pokemon, the powders spewing from the top of his head as he began shrouding the stage in mist. Throwing in more powder using Stun Spore, it was practically impossible to see the water pokemon now with the glistening powder obscuring the stage like a fog. The shroomish calmed himself, knowing how pressuring this combo was going to be with the control it needed. The Shroomish put all his might into his feet, jumping up above the large fog of spores. He spun, using a glowing beam of absorb. This absorb, however, did not have the force needed for a damaging attack. It didn't even touch the stage as it pulsed across the building ceiling, covering the top of the establishment with a gently moving beam, almost like a hypnotic spiral. To finish off, the Shroomish suddenly shot down from the heavens, aiming a falling tackle at the water pokemon.

Ari was just about to leave when Oliver started his ultimate performance yet, the powder on the stage completely covered the view of the Vaporeon, while the Shroomish which was still in the air. Normally since this was a battle, the moves would try to be damaging, but the Absorb he fired off didn't seem to have that intent, instead going away from were the water Pokemon seemed to be, and the entire show, seemed to be something out of a contest instead of an actual battle. She saw an appeals round once or twice, and it was as amazing and beautiful act just like this one. While the young girl's eyes shone, she neglected to notice a certain party slowly shake, and soon it would hit the button, setting herself free...

(Uh-Oh..)
The vaporeon screeched as it noticed the attack incoming, but was unsure of whether to move or not even if it could. The vaporeon's screech was silenced when the attack hit it head on. The vaporeon dropped where it was, KO'd. The waiter yelped and rushed to his pokemon, he retrieved it with a bow to the crowd. Another waited stepped in his place. The waiter smirked and asked, "That was cool, but can you handle the same pokemon twice?" he sent out a seel who clapped and twirled in a circle.

Nyx couldn't believe it! There was still more? She looked over to her Shroomish, worried for the little pokemon. "Oliver, you sure you can handle more?" She asked, knowing how much the Shroomish gave his all during the last battle. Aloysius continued to be amused at this gym's antics. He found the waiters' pokemon's tricks petty and overused, finding some respect for his irritating, naive teammate.

Oliver nodded vigorously, a bit tired but pumped with adrenaline from the experience. He had never experienced so much action in his life! Well, sure, battles were challenging, but with this, he was allowed to show off his 'artistic brilliance'. His old mentors, the Kirlias of the Forest, would definitely be proud of him if they were here. He took note of that, making sure to find a way to visit them again. He had them to thank for learning how to create such magnificent tricks, after all.

He grinned, ready to outsmart more opponents. He had more tricks up his sleeve, and after realizing how much show-offs the pokemon of this cafe was, he was more than grateful to show them a lesson on how a REAL performance was done. He hopped up to the stage, mimicking the seel's twirl and syncing them in their little dance. It was an adorable beginning to the battle.

Ari watched the spetical almost anxiously, wanting it to continue, even though normally, she detested battles but this one was really interesting. Her eyes shone as the two were dancing with each other, when the Pokeball jerked suddenly, and it slipped out of her grasp. With a clatter the red and white sphere landed on the floor and rolled slowly, almost onmiously as the button slowly rotated and started facing towards the ground. It stopped just before the buttton could click against the ground, but as Ari bent down nervously to pick it up, her fingers accidently gently pushed it, causing the final push that it needed to release the Pokemon. She looked shockly as a white light appeared and streaked across the room before going in a cup of water through a door, into a different room. If you listened closely, a small splashing sound could be heard. "Um...excuse me." She mumbled, grabbing the Pokeball and quickly dashed towards the room, hopefully before and damage could be done.

[Just hope that Ari can get Hope before anybody is mentally scarred by this place XD]

Hope had landed in a confused chef's cooking pot. The chef began to swear in a different language, then in english he shouted, "My soup! My beautiful soup!" he brought the carvannah out with a spatula and flipped it onto the floor. Enraged, he shouted, "You will rue the day you ruined Chef Ramsey's soup! Special tonight: Carvannah Carnival!"

The seel clapped happily at the shroomish's performance. This one seemed to be a better sport. It then put on a determined face and took in a deep breath, it blew it back out except the temperature was below normal and the breeze was more powerful, Icy Wind! It growled cutely as it did so.

Oliver endured the cold breeze, spinning rapidly in it. The cold wind embraced the Shroomish's twirling, turning into a small, but effectively cold twister. The mushroom launched itself towards the seel, surrounded by its cold twister-like armor. He unleashed a Stun Spore, the gold-like spores joined the small, blue frosts of the twister and making a blue and yellow combination of colors as he sent himself towards the Seel in a Tackle.

Aloysius' ears perked up, hearing something go into one of the doors. He saw a bright flash or light dash from a pokeball on the floor and into one of the rooms, a splash following as a girl rushed after it. He smirked, hopping off of his trainer's head and onto the ground. Watching all this 'dazzling' nonsense was getting a bit boring. Surely a quick little exploration would be alright. He snuck off the stage, following the girl into the kitchen. He brought a paw to his mouth, stifling a laugh as he saw a chief cursing out a Carvanha. He remained hidden behind a few counters.

Even as Hope got flung out of the pot, she could only laugh at the Chef's pathetic antics. But when the cook threatened to make a meal out of her, the laughs became a satistic smirk, "Car, Carvanha. Car car." Try me. I'll make soup out of you first. With a little blood mixed in. At this moment, Hope splashed into the puddle, causing the still warm soup to splash into the Chef's eyes, and then jumped around trying to take bites out of crazy Ramsey.

Ari dashed towards the door and tried to flung it open. It seemed to be jammed, and looking down there was a regular fish on the ground plugging the gap between the floor and the door. The chaos of Hope's pissed off ramapge, seemed to have thrown the fish at the door, locking it closed. Even though it would take quite a while, Ari bent down to try to push the fish away, when she read something that almost made her heart stop.

"Ramsey's Kitchen. Unautorized personels, keep out!"

[Hope is best Chef, no questions asked.]

The seel was damaged by the attack, it cried out but didn't try to pull the audience in like the other seel did. It countered with another icy wind. It seemed to be growing a bit tired though.

Ramsey seemed to grow red with anger and took out a pokeball, "SimiSage! Grab that Carvanah!" A simisage climbed onto the counter and hollered at the Carvannah it leered at it before a glow of energy appeared above it and launched towards the carvanah, it was seed bomb!
