A New Face?

Most would expect it to be a beautiful sunny day with clouds floating lazily in the sky, especially on a day so important like this. She had hoped so as well, to, y'know, give off a sign that her "journey" ( if that's what you'd like to call it ) was gonna go great. Wrong. So very wrong. Instead, nature decided to show no mercy and made it rain. Why had the ship arrived today? Why couldn't it just slow down or take a break and wait one more day? For whatever reason, Skye Autumn certainly didn't know the answer to that.

Here she was, in this huge place all by herself, with nobody to count on. Yes, that was about to change. Yes, it did make things a little brighter. But with all this rain pouring down on her with no mercy, Skye wasn't so sure if this day was still "bright." Still, she didn't have a moment to lose ; not wanting to stay out in the downpour any longer, the 15-year old hurried down the damp ground, carefully watching and making sure not to slip while shielding her eyes from the raindrops.

She could see the little lab on the horizon, so she hurried faster. Skye liked watching rain, but after such a huge downcast, she'd be a little more sensitive to nature. The girl's pace quickened with every step, until she realized her feet were taking her to the laboratory as fast as they could. As soon as the metal door slid open, she dashed inside without so much of a knock and a proper greeting. Shivering, Skye caught her breath as she dried herself off the best she could.

"Um.." she called a bit weakly, still trying to recover from the experience of being soaked to the skin, "hello? Is anyone.. here?"

A lanky boy stood... Wait a minute, no he isn't! The boy was being held up in the air, surrounded by an odd red energy. He seemed terrified, floating at the mercy of a pokemon. In front of the floating boy was a Gardevoir, who looked very much angry. She had an arm stretched out, her eyes and her hand glowing with the same energy. The pokemon seemed to be yelling in her language, possibly translating it to the boy through telepathy as she continued torturing the poor scientist by waving him around hectically.

"No, no, no! Blythe, stop! Put me- OW!" The boy gave a cry as the Gardevoir threw him to the wall, causing him to collide face-first with it. He groaned, sliding onto the ground before suddenly being levitated by his pokemon again. The boy gave a frightened girly scream as he was flipped upside-down, now having his head facing the ground as the psychic pokemon waved him around in threat. He heard someone enter the building, immediately alerting the angry pokemon. "H-how about we deal with this later? PLEASE. I-I have to cater to the lab o-or I'll fail my training and won't get into Psychoul as an official sc-scientist!"

The Gardevoir huffed, before letting go of her trainer, causing him to fall onto the floor. With an 'Eek!', the young scientist was thrown down. The boy groaned in pain, holding his head as he curled up on the tiled ground, trying to lessen the pain of the impact. He staggered onto his feet, still feeling a tad hurt from falling head-first on the hard floor. Looking up, he noticed a young girl, seeming to be drenched, standing by the door. He gave a nervous chuckle, rubbing the still-aching part of his head.

"Um. Hello! W-welcome to the Konoha Laboratory! How m-may I help you?" He stuttered, to which the Gardevoir snickered.

Skye was unsure if anyone was even here, for she had not noticed anyone was inside until she heard screaming just above and an angry Pokemon, and from her research back home she confirmed it was a Gardevoir. She watched in disbelief as the scientist was thrown to the wall then to the floor, completely forgetting that she was soaked.

Rather than being confused, she gave a light laugh. "Wow! You're really good at acting~!" she chirped, clapping her hands a few times. Skye believed no Pokemon had any sort of bad side unless they were taught so. Gardevoir, she had learned, were gentle and caring, so this made no sense. She grinned before saying, "Um, I'm here to get a Pokemon. Is that okay?"

[ you'll get no sympathy from me //shot ]

Helix proceeded to murder Skye couldn't form the words to reply to the girl's comment about 'acting'. This girl was weird, he decided. But many trainers were usually naive about pokemon, so he reassured himself that this was to be expected. With a smile, he welcomed the new trainer. "Sure! I-I'll go get the pokemon list. Um, please wait and... be careful." He said, disappearing to another room to get the needed items.

The Gardevoir watched as her trainer left, looking rather bored. She turned her attention to the newcomer, a look of irritation on her face. She didn't like how chipper this human was, or how she made her trainer leave. Her eyes began to glow, sending forth messages to the girl using Telepathy. ' What are you so happy about, meatbag? ' She said, her voice seething with venom as she glared daggers. She crossed her arms, impatiently waiting for an answer.

Skye was then brutally murdered smiled as she watched the boy trot off, and she laughed. People here were weird. The smile faded just a bit as the Gardevoir began "talking" to her. Her jaw dropped, and her eyes brightened. Again, rather than getting mad, she gave another laugh and clapped her hands excitedly.

"Amazing! They taught you how to use Telepathy too? You guys should come to Unova at the Pokestar Studios. They'd love you!" she sang, convincing herself she was in the presence of a true master. Realizing so, she cleared her throat and curtseyed. "How do you do? My name is Skye, and it's great to meet such a talented actress like you!"

' Actress? What? You're a moron. You shouldn't be alive. Go die, human. No wait, I'll kill you off myself. ' The Gardevoir mentally hissed, sending forth a wave of negative energy before her eyes began to glow again. The hammers and other miscellaneous tools that were strewn around the lab (Mainly for repair reasons) floated over, surrounded in red glow as they were raised above the girl, ready to give her a beat down.

"BLYTHE, STOP!" A voice interrupted, causing the psychic pokemon to lose focus and break off the energy from the tools. The hazardous items were sent clattering onto the floor, a few falling above and hitting her feet and falling onto the floor with a clunk!

The voice was none other than Helix, a clipboard and pen now in his hand. He seemed a bit shaken with having to witness such a scene, but a slight hint of relief was on him with being able to stop his angry partner before she caused harm and ended his chances of being a scientist. He gave a sigh of relief, walking over to the girl.

"Uh-uh... A-are you alright?! Blythe didn't hurt you did she? Um! Sorry sorry sorry! Sorry in behalf of my partner! Um... Uh... I... I brought the list! H-here, you can choose any pokemon you want. I just need your name and your pokemon..." He said, fidgeting before giving the girl the clipboard and pen. It was filled with a large list of pokemon with checkboxes beside them. There was a single field at the top where the name was supposed to be added.

Although the sight of all those things did frighten her just a bit, Skye simply gave a mischievous little smirk - she didn't seem fazed too much, for she had learned much harder things only a few months ago. The girl merely turned her head and watched as the boy trotted over, stuttering and looking quite shaken. The trainer-to-be smiled. "Nope, I'm perfectly okay, see?" she twirled around, "proving" that she wasn't hurt.

Politely grabbing the clipboard and pen, she began eagerly scanning it. Her turquoise eyes nearly reached the bottom of the page before she let out a soft "oh!" and gave a little smile. She wrote her name neatly before tapping the pen's end against a name : "That one. I'd like an Emolga, please."
